How to tell if a no-KYC exchange can be trusted
No ID required does not mean no risk. These are the signals we check before listing an exchange, and the ones you should check too.

An instant exchange that does not ask for ID still holds your coins for a few minutes. In that window, you are trusting it completely. So how do you tell a solid service from one that will hold your swap or disappear?
These are the same signals we look at before we list an exchange on KYCHunter.
1. A clear, public KYC policy
Good exchanges say exactly when they may ask for ID, for example "only if our risk checks flag a deposit". Vague promises like "we respect your privacy" mean nothing. Our KYC scores are built from these policies and from what users report.
2. Where the liquidity comes from
Some exchanges pay out from their own reserves. Others pass your swap to a bigger exchange behind the scenes. In the second case, that partner's compliance team can freeze your coins, even if the front-end exchange never would.
3. A guarantee
Some services keep a deposit with aggregators or with us. It does not make problems impossible, but it means the exchange has something to lose if it treats users unfairly. You can filter for exchanges with a guarantee.
4. Honest fees
Look at the rate you actually receive, not just the advertised fee. A low fee with a bad exchange rate is still expensive. Compare the final amount on two or three exchanges before you send.
5. Support that answers
Send a question before you swap. If no one answers in a reasonable time, imagine how it will be when your swap is stuck.
6. Age and reputation
Older services with a long record are not automatically safe, but brand-new sites with no history deserve extra care. Search for the name plus "scam" and read recent reports, not just old ones.
Red flags
- Rates far better than everyone else's
- No contact details, or only a web form
- A domain that looks like a well-known exchange with one letter changed
- Pressure to send quickly before a "rate expires" that never expires elsewhere
Start every new exchange with a small test swap. It costs a little in fees and can save you a lot.
Every exchange on KYCHunter shows its KYC score, fee, typical time and guarantee side by side, so you can compare these points at a glance.
